Kenya’s Nakuru Diocese will be marking the 2024 Pastoral Year under the theme, “Proclamation of the Word of God"
In a Thursday, January 11 letter, Bishop Cleophas Oseso Tuka says the theme “should help us to see the Word of God as an unfading lamp meant to guide us along the right path and banishing the shadows of uncertainty.”
“This year's theme is ‘Proclamation of the Word of God’ inspired by Psalm 119:105 ‘Your Word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path’,” Bishop Oseso said.
He added, “In Psalm 119, the psalmist declares that God's Word is a steady radiance of light to our feet guiding us through darkness and shining brightly on the pathways we take. This Psalm is a collection of inspired reflections on the nature of God's Word and its importance in the life of a Christian.”
“Clearly, without God and his Word, we are spiritually walking in the dark. By opening the scriptures, it brightens the path we take rekindling the joy of spending time with God and growing in the knowledge and understanding of his ways,” the Bishop of Nakuru said, emphasizing the importance of the theme.
