Christian Leaders in Nigeria Laud President for “positive steps” to Unite Country

Acknowledging the challenges facing Africa’s most populous nation including the issue of insecurity, Archbishop Okoh urged Nigerians to give the president time to serve the country, saying, “This is just the beginning of this administration.”

“Nigeria is big, what we face now started not just today. It started many years back, and it will take a while to turn around these things,” he said following the state House visit that saw CAN pledge their support to president Tinubu.

The General Superintendent of Christ Holy Church International, an African Independent Church, expressed optimism about the country’s future, saying that the president is taking deliberate steps to “reverse the trend of events” especially in the governance sector.

“We see the effort he is making towards securing this nation. So, we ask Nigerians who are watching and those people who seem to have lost hope, not to lose hope, but to have patience and persevere, though it is night, we know that a new dawn is just on the horizon,” the president of CAN said in the January 23 report.

Archbishop Okoh further lauded the president’s leadership style and encouraged him “to continue on the path that he is now determined to follow.”
