Bishop Peter Kimani Ndung’u of the Catholic Diocese of Embu in Kenya is urging the country’s youths be patient as they grapple with multiple challenges.
In his message ahead of the Nyeri Ecclesiastical Province Youths Mass that is to bring together Catholic youths from Nyeri Archdiocese and the Dioceses of Mararal, Isiolo, Nyahururu, Muranga, Meru, Embu, and Marsabit, Bishop Kimani said that “being young is a resource” and a reason for hope.
“I wish to call upon the youth, particularly those who will be coming to reflect on their relationship with God and their relationship with the issues that are happening around them,” he said in the audio message shared with ACI Africa on Thursday, July 3, ahead of the youths Mass scheduled for Sunday, July 6 at Embu University Grounds.
The Kenyan Catholic Bishop, who serves as Vice Chair of the Commission for Youth Apostolate of the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops (KCCB) wants youths to reflect on the internal resources they have amongst themselves, saying, “Being young is a resource, and it is a real reason for hope, that there is a hope for tomorrow in them.”
Bishop Kimani has called upon youths to reflect deeply on developments across all sectors of the country, including health, politics, and climate, and to consider their present and future implications.
