Luanda, 25 January, 2025 / 8:15 pm (ACI Africa).
A Brazilian missionary Priest and singer is visiting Angola from January 23 to 31 to perform two concerts aimed at raising funds for the construction of the Parish Church of Our Lady of the Navigators in the Catholic Diocese of Benguela.
The first event, an “Afternoon of Praise,” is scheduled for Sunday, January 26, at the St. John Parish of Luanda Archdiocese. The second, a “Night of Praise,” is to take place on January 30 at the Our Lady of Fatima Cathedral of Benguela Diocese.
In an interview with ACI Africa on Friday, January 24 in Luanda, Fr. João Carlos emphasized the significance of these events.
“We are organizing these events to support the construction of a larger church for the growing community in Benguela. The current structure accommodates only 300 to 500 faithful, while the demand exceeds two thousand,” Fr. Carlos told ACI Africa.
He added, “An hour and a half is ideal for a meaningful conversation through song. We plan to perform around 20 songs, carefully selected from our extensive repertoire to fit the time frame.”
