The Bishop of Eswatini’s Manzini Diocese which is set to host the Golden Jubilee of the Inter-Regional Meeting of the Bishops of Southern Africa (IMBISA) has called for spiritual solidarity in making the event a success.
In his letter of update on several developments within the only Catholic Diocese of the Southern African landlocked nation, Bishop José Luís Gerardo Ponce de León called for concerted effort in ensuring that there is a large attendance at the September 24 – 29 double celebration of 4th Plenary Assembly and Golden Jubilee
“On Sunday 28 September 2025, we will be gathering at Mavuso Trade Centre to celebrate together with 120 visitors (70 of them bishops) the IMBISA Golden Jubilee,” the Argentine-born member of the Consolata Missionaries (IMC) said in the Tuesday, August 19 letter.
He added, “I suggest you start not only motivating the people but organizing the transport to the event.”
“Let us say the IMBISA prayer every day at home and on Sundays together at our Parishes and Outstations. Let us build this important gathering on prayer!” Bishop Ponce de León said in the letter addressed to the Clergy, Religious and Laity.
