He said he was an “eyewitness” of the collaboration between the incoming and outgoing VC, and added, “I've been here as the legal advisor and member of the board of trustees for this university for the last three years.”

Governor Al-Taib highlighted some of his accomplishments for the Catholic institution of higher learning, including the dispute regarding land. 

“I was able to resolve the case within two weeks, and the Catholic University is now the full legal owner of the designated land,” he said, and added, “As lawyers, you determine the cost of your work, and it is paid to you in advance before you carry out the function. But when I was assigned to handle the case of the Catholic University, I did not ask for a penny. And I did the work diligently and finished it, and I did not request it for any penny, and God rewarded me as a Governor for Western Equatorial.”

On his part, the United States Ambassador to South Sudan underscored the importance of faith to the people of God in the country, especially those involved in advancing the education of the future leaders.

The experience of faith in South Sudan, Ambassador Michael J. Adler said, “has given me great hope for the future of this country.”
