Dieudonné Cardinal Nzapalainga of the Catholic Archdiocese of Bangui in the Central African Republic (CAR) has announced the launch of the 2025–2026 pastoral year in his Metropolitan See later this month, and described the six-day gathering scheduled to kick off of September 23 as a period to live “the mystery of unity of the Triune God.”
In a Monday, September 8 press conference, Cardinal Nzapalainga provided details about the September 23-28 event to take place at the Our Lady of Africa Parish of Bangui Archdiocese.
“I am happy to announce the launch of the 2025–2026 pastoral year in the Archdiocese of Bangui. This is an occasion that brings together all pastoral agents, delegates from Parishes, movements, prayer groups, all sons and daughters of God, men and women of goodwill,” he said.
The member of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost Fathers/Spiritans/CSSp.) expressed hope that the gathering will be “a time of living the mystery of unity of the Triune God, a moment of closeness, a father with his family gathered for an encounter enriched by mutual listening and exchange of experiences.”
Speaking about the theme chosen for this year is, “Mission! Hope does not disappoint!” (Rom 5:5), Cardinal Nzapalainga said that the choice is directly linked to the theme of the ongoing Catholic Church’s 2025 Jubilee Year, “Pilgrims of Hope”.
