Newly Appointed Ivorian Prime Minister Visits Country’s Cardinal for Blessings

“In the framework of the exchanges that we have with the first persons in charge of these institutions, we have a glimpse of the feelings that there are in the country,” the Prime Minister went on to say, and continued, “This allows us to orient the actions of the government in such a way as to bring, in accordance with the will of His Excellency the President of the Republic Alassane Ouattara, peace, serenity and well-being.”

The Prime Minister added that the meeting “also allowed us to take an overview of economic, social and political news.”

Describing the Ivorian Cardinal as “a very cultured person who closely follows the development of the country,” the government official said that the Catholic Church leader was pleased to share what he felt about a number of issues in the country. 

“It has greatly enriched us,” the Premier said, making reference to the April 24 encounter with Cardinal Kutwa.

Besides listening to the Cardinal, the Premier who was accompanied by three government officials delivered a message from President Ouattara.

“We also told him the great actions that we were in the process of carrying out and the one that we will carry out during the next years,” he said, adding, “I believe that there is a very great convergence of views between our positions.”

“We have received his blessings and we have decided together that this kind of meeting, between the Prime Minister who is responsible for leading government policy and institutions like his, can take place on a regular basis,” Prime Minister Achi said. 

He called for collaborative efforts to “maintain peace and lead the country, so that it brings daily well-being to the populations, comfort and peace.”
