Fr. Knaze acknowledged with appreciation the faith practice of the people of God in Malawi amid challenges.
“There are a lot of big churches in Europe but they are empty,” he said, and added, “To see that you need more and bigger churches here has been so inspiring.”
On his part, the PMS National Director for Malawi underlined the need for the Church in Malawi to foster initiatives towards self-reliance.
“What we receive here for these projects are subsidies that come when the communities have already done something,” Fr. Vincent Mwakhwawa has been quoted as saying in the September 22 report.
Fr. Mwakhwawa adds, “We need to learn to give to the Church to implement projects like building Churches, Schools and hospitals. Because the funding will not always be there, this is exactly what our friends do.”
