Pastoral agents need to foster a collective approach if their service among the people of God is to be effective, the Vicar General of South Sudan’s Wau Diocese has said.

Fr. Germano Bernardo Baku who was speaking at the end of the June 5-7 workshop that Misereor, the German Catholic Bishops’ Organization for Development Cooperation, helped realize said positive change in the South Sudanese Diocese can be realized through teamwork.

“Church services such as health, education, and pastoral activities are very important and need all of us to work collectively,” Fr. Baku said on Wednesday, June 7, the last day of the three-day training that focused on proposal writing and budgeting, project management and implementation, as well as monitoring and evaluation.

He told the 16 participants, who included members of the Clergy, Religious Sisters, and Laity in Wau Diocese that activities in the various programs of the Church can successfully be implemented “when we are united as the people of this Diocese.”

All of us need to promote teamwork to change many things in the Diocese for effective service delivery to the community,” the Vicar General of Wau Diocese further said.
