Nigeria’s Katsina-Ala Diocese to Launch Year of Youth on Feast of St. Jude Thaddeus

According to Bishop Dugu, “This year-long special pastoral programme is dedicated to all young people in the Catholic Diocese of Katsina-Ala without the distinction of tribe, religion, denomination, political or cultural affiliation and economic status.”

The Year of the Youth, the 52-year-old Bishop said, is to be championed by all Catholic youth groups in the Diocese, most especially, the Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON), the Young Catholic Students of Nigeria (YCSN), the Holy Childhood Association (HCA), the National Association of Catholic Corpers (NACC) and the Nigerian Fellowship of Catholic Students (NFCS) and all young people, who are members of other Church organizations and societies.

“The Year of the Youth is the prerogative of everyone in the diocese, the priests, religious and lay faithful, who in charity and with patience, should accompany, encourage and support all young people, providing them with the opportunities to live, to grow, to practice their faith and to maximize their potential,” Bishop Dugu said.

He implored, “We undertake this voyage of the Year of the Youth, relying on the maternal care of our Mother Assumed into heaven, the intercession of our Patron Saint, Gerard Majella and St. John Bosco, the Patron Saint of the Youth.”
