“Come to our rescue”, Nigerian Priest to International Community after Month of Captivity

A Nigerian Catholic Priest who spent at least a month in captivity following his abduction earlier this year has called on the international community to come to the aid of the people of God in Nigeria’s Kaduna State amid heightened insecurity.

Hours after gunmen attacked a Catholic Parish in Nigeria’s Sokoto Diocese, kidnapping two Priests, one of them has been found murdered, Clerics in the Diocese have confirmed.

Arinze Madu, a diocesan Catholic priest serving at Nigeria’s Queen of Apostles Spiritual Year Seminary, Enugu diocese, there are concerns about the priest’s whereabouts as kidnappings targeting Church leaders seem to multiply in Africa’s most populous country, a source in Enugu diocese has told ACI Africa.
