The Catholic Bishop of  Sekondi-Takoradi Diocese in Ghana and members of the National Council of Catholic Women (NCCW) have paid a solidarity visit to victims of the January 20 gas explosion that occurred near a mining town in the Southwestern region of the country.

Msgr. John Baptist Attakruh who has been serving as Apostolic Administrator of Ghana’s Sekondi-Takoradi Diocese since August 2020 has been appointed the Local Ordinary of the same episcopal see.

“Help make life easier for those suffering,” Ghanaian Archbishop on World Day of the Poor

As the Church marked the third World Day of the Poor initiated by Pope Francis through his Apostolic Letter, ‘Misericordia et Misera’, delegates of a charitable and devotional group of Catholic men, women and children in the West African country of Ghana have been encouraged to reach out to the poor in their immediate surroundings, including the sick and suffering who are struggling to keep hope alive.
