Bishop Michael Miabesue Bibi of the Catholic Diocese of Buea has been lauded for his “perseverance and dedication” in the Lord’s vineyard for the past 25 years.
In his homily during the Friday, December 5 Holy Mass to mark the 25th Priestly anniversary of Bishop Bibi, Archbishop Andrew Fuanya Nkea reflected on the Local Ordinary of Buea’s journey of faith, service, and dedication to the Catholic Church.
“To have spent a quarter of a century working for the Lord is not always easy… We sincerely thank Bishop Bibi for his perseverance and dedication within these 25 years,” Archbishop Nkea said during the Eucharitic celebration that was held at the St. Joseph Cathedral of the Catholic Archdiocese of Bamenda.
He added, “In 25 years, he has been so devoted that it pleased the Holy Father to appoint him first as Auxiliary Bishop of Bamenda in 2017, Apostolic Administrator of Buea in 2019, and finally as Fifth Residential Bishop of the Diocese of Boya in 2021. Not every Priest gets this privilege, so we sincerely congratulate and celebrate with Bishop Bibi during his silver jubilee to the Priesthood.”
“For the past 25 years, Bishop Bibi has totally emptied himself to be used as an instrument of God’s love for his people. He is a pastor and shepherd who gives his life continually for the church and for those who know him well,” Archbishop Nkea said.
