Ahead of Africa Day to be marked on May 25, the Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace in Zimbabwe (CCJPZ), an entity of the country’s Catholic Bishops that handles socio-political issues, has called for renewed global commitment to reparations, healing, and justice for Africans and people of African descent.
On the occasion of Africa Day 2021, young people in Africa have been urged to awaken and join the global conversation amid signs of “hope, liberation, and restoration” on the continent and beyond.
On Africa Day this year, the Coalition for Africa’s Liberation and Restoration (CALAR), a collaborative initiative of numerous groups on the continent and in the diaspora, has called on Africans in all parts of the world to wake up and claim their rights and dignity and to “protect their heritage from organized criminal agents.”
