Bishops in Southern Africa File Lawsuit against International Mining Company

Members of the Southern African Catholic Bishops’ Conference (SACBC) have, through their Justice and Peace Commission (JPC), launched a class action lawsuit against the Anglo American Group, seeking recourse for sick miners and families of workers who died after contracting pneumoconiosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

The Justice and Peace Commission of the Southern African Catholic Bishops’ Conference (SACBC) has partnered with South African human rights lawyers to seek justice for victims of coal mining in South Africa.
