“Unacceptable”: Religious Freedom Advocates on Protracted Captivity of Nigerian Teen, Leah

The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) has termed as “unacceptable” the continued holding in captivity of Leah Sharibu, the only remaining student who has not been released since the 2018 Dapchi schoolgirls kidnapping.

Advocates for Nigerian Persecuted Christians Fault US Report Depicting Fulani as Victims

Advocates for persecuted Christians in Nigeria are criticizing a new report prepared by the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) that they say ignores the many documented atrocities perpetrated against Christians by the Fulani ethnic group in Nigeria and instead paints the Fulani as persecuted victims.

Human Rights Commission "outraged" as State Department Excludes Nigeria from Watchlist

For the second year in a row Nigeria has been left off of the U.S. State Department’s list of countries that engage in or tolerate the world’s worst religious freedom violations, despite regular reports of kidnappings and killings of Christians, sparking outcry from members of a bipartisan government watchdog group.

Human Rights Activists Call on US State Department to Return Nigeria to Religious Freedom

Human rights advocates are calling on U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to put Nigeria back on a list of the world’s worst violators of religious freedom in light of increasing attacks against Christians.
