Born in Turin in Italy in January1968, the newly appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Liberia was ordained a Priest on 10 May 1992.
As a Priest, the Archbishop-elect served in various capacities in the Diocese of Iglesias, including Diocesan Ecclesiastical Tribunal, teaching Canon Law at the Diocesan Institute of Religious Sciences (1993-1999); Curate of St Ponziano Parish in Carbonia (1993-1997); Religious Education teacher at the State Secondary School N. 2 of Carbonia (1993-1994); Diocesan Assistant of the Catholic Action for Children (1993-1996); and Zone Assistant of the A.G.E.S.C.I. ( Associazione Guide e Scouts Cattolici Italiani), among other responsibilities.
He also served as secretary to the Bishop of the Italian Diocese from 1997-1999; Director of the diocesan offices for youth pastoral work and social communications; Diocesan delegate for the Great Jubilee of the Year 2000 and secretary to the presbyteral council.
The graduate in Canon Law who speaks Italian, Spanish, French and English entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See on 1 April 2001.
Since then, Archbishop-elect Erbì has served in various Apostolic Nunciatures, including Greece, Mexico, Belgium, Italy, Australia, France, and Turkey.
