Plans Underway to Return Late Congolese Archbishop to Native Country for Interment

Plans are underway to ship the body of the late Congolese Archbishop who died in South Africa back to his native country for interment.

The Most Holy Redeemer, a Catholic Mission in South Africa’s Archdiocese of Pretoria, will, in a few months, mark 100 years of existence as the first Catholic Mission that was constructed by black people to serve those who lived in the villages on the outskirts of the city.

In response to the request from the Bishop of South Africa’s Diocese of Mariannhill “for an Apostolic Visitation”, Pope Francis has appointed the Archbishop Emeritus of Pretoria in South Africa, William Slattery to represent him in the visit of the diocese that is part of the Ecclesiastical Province of Durban.
