Pope Francis and President of Burundi Engage on Country’s Contribution to Church Growth

Pope Francis on Saturday, March 26 welcomed Burundi’s President, Évariste Ndayishimiye, at the Apostolic Palace in Vatican City to a meeting during which the two leaders discussed the contribution of the Church to the growth of the East African country.

At a recent courtesy visit to their country’s President, Nana Akufo-Addo, Catholic Bishops in Ghana presented a petition requesting for the Presidential Charter to the Catholic University College of Ghana (CUCG) located in Fiapre within the Sunyani Diocese.

When the Bishops and heads of dioceses in Sudan and South Sudan met for their weeklong Annual Plenary Assembly in Juba that concluded October 30, they not only deliberated about the situation of their sister countries and delivered a message of hope but also elected new leaders for their umbrella body, the Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference (SCBC).
